It is often said that if you have a strong
attachment to something or pursue a path single-
mindely, you will certainely get it or succeed. It is true in
the case of Jadugar Anand, the world famoaus magician
known for his speedy tricks and proud winner of three
international records.
Anand says magic is a pleasing and amazing
art and an exhibition of practised skills, where the laws
of nature are seemingly set aside for innocent
entertainment. But he maintains that his magic is no
hypnotism as group hypnotism or mass hypnotism is not
possible.
He enlightens that it is only an illusion created
to cheat your eyes an in illlusion it is the eye which see
a thing and conveys the message to the brain whereas
in hypnotism it is the brain which dictates the eyes to
see it in the way it interprets.
Anand uses hypnotism only when he calls a
teenage girl or a boy or a child on stage to perform a
trick on her/him. Having perfromed magic shows on over
26,000 stages across 36 countries, Anand, in a soft tone,
remembers his days when his parents almost killed him
for showing interest in magic and for deciding to take it
as a profession.
But Anand's love for the profession was so
profound that he started practising magic watching
jugglers on the road-side and reading books related to
the subject.
Today's he has mastered what he calls an art
so well that he has incorporated new techniques like
laser lights and new mind-bogging tricks to his
performances.Anand attributes his success to the
practice and hardship he faced before emerging as a
popular magician.
'No skill can be obtained without practice and
determination and this applies to any field' says Anand.
He further says he has been assigned a specific role
and he is acting it absolutely and perfectly in decent and
advanced manner.
Replying to a question on why people still not
accept magic as a decent profession, he said: 'I'm here
just for that, to promote magic as an art. It is the social
status, security, and uncertainly of income that create a
sense of fear thereby downsizing
the field of magic. This could be changed only by
establishing magic as an art form and establishing an
academy for magic is all the provincial capitals of the
States'.
Apart from magic, anand involves himself
totally in spirituality- meditation, samadhi, thapam, and
dhyanam. Anand also shows keen interest in human
psychology.
'I also do face reading and could easily
identify a problem in a person and try to counsel him to
rectify his problems.' But he backtracks himself in the
case of women saying that they are impossible to
understand. He also quotes a sanskrit saying in support
of his verdict.
Anand quotes mother Aurobindo's saying as
